Psychotronic Film Society presents: "J.R. 'Bob' Dobbs and the Church of the SubGenius" East Coast Premiere / Loop It Up Savannah Benefit!
The Psychotronic Film Society of Savannah and Knocked Out Loaded Concerts are THRILLED to present the East Coast Premiere screening of director Sandy K. Boone's wild new documentary on the past, present and future of the legendary Church of the SubGenius -- one of the greatest and most subversive hoaxes ever perpetrated on the human race.
The movie has already won or been nominated for Top Honors at such esteemed film festivals as SXSW, Melourne (Australia) Documentary Film Fest, Galway (Ireland) Film Fleadh, Dallas International Film Fest and Blow-Up Chicago International Arthouse Film Fest -- however, it has only been shown once before now outside of the festival circuit (in Boston at Emerson College).
This Special Sneak Preview is generously sponsored by the good people at CONNECT SAVANNAH and takes place at 8PM on Sunday, Dec. 8 at the SENTIENT BEAN COFFEESHOP, and serves as the film's East Coast Premiere (the doc won't hit regular theaters for more than a month)!
In addition to being some of the very first people to view the finished film, there will be a RAFFLE beforehand for an ORIGINAL, ONE-OF-A-KIND PAINTING of the Church's prophet and savior, J.R. "Bob" Dobbs, by legendary folk artist PANHANDLE SLIM.
Plus, immediately following the screening, all are invited to the OFFICIAL AFTER-PARTY at SAVOY SOCIETY, downtown's coolest new watering hole and snackery (located on the GROUND FLOOR of DRAYTON TOWER), where libations will flow and edibles may be consumed while listening to the VINYL TOMFOOLERY of longtime SubGenius member and contributor DJ KZL (Keith Kozel).
