JUDAS MACCABAEUS by Handel
Good Morning from Blessed Sacrament Parish Music Ministry.
Our Parish has been working with our public health partners at the Seattle Catholic Archdiocese, King County Health Officials and the University of Washington Medical Center monitoring the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19). When responding to infectious diseases, it is important to know that our parish follows the directions and recommendations made by the Archdiocese as well as State and County Health Departments.
Information received in the past few days from the Archdiocese and King County Health Officials has instructed that all "non-essential" gatherings, meetings and events be cancelled or suspended especially any gatherings of more than 50 people that involve the elderly or those that might have a "compromised" immune system.
We have already seen major closures and cancellations at the University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University our Public Schools as well as numerous events within the larger Archdiocese including retreats, lectures, classes, etc...Nearly ALL "non-essential" events have been cancelled or suspended within our Parish including several retreats, lectures and religious educations classes.
In response to requests from the Seattle Archdiocese and King County Health Officials, the Blessed Sacrament Music Ministry will be cancelling the following event:
May 2, 2020 - "Judas Maccabaeus" Concert Performance and ALL scheduled rehearsals.
While this decision is VERY disappointing for our Music Ministry (we have been rehearsing for months), it indeed appears to be the prudent and responsible course of action given the current situation and the outbreak in our community.
NO OTHER EVENTS involving the Blessed Sacrament Music Ministry are being cancelled at this time. We will keep you posted should future health concerns warrant additional action.
Thank you for your patience in this situation. Please know of Blessed Sacrament Parish's commitment to high quality sacred music going forward both in concert settings AND at our Choral Masses and regular liturgical celebrations.
Your tickets will be refunded in full by Brown Paper Tickets, and the funds will post back to your account within 3-10 business days.
