Absolute Theatre Company's " A Dickens of A Christmas!"
The Absolute Theatre Company will present "A Dickens of A Christmas!" the second production in their 2019-2020 season.A fun fast paced production in the style of a 1930's live radio show called: Old Blue Church Radio Show. This production features The Absolute Theatre Company Players working together to create a unique night of Christmas entertainment. This production becomes three-D in your mind reminiscent of an old timey live radio show.
"A Dickens of A Christmas!" features Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol", "T'was the Night Before Christmas" by Clement Clarke Moore and "A Christmas Birth", and many other surprises. This fun holiday show promises to fill you with the idea of simple Christmas pleasures.
Absolute Theatre Company is presenting a full season of productions based around the theme of a live radio show. Professional Artistic Director Kate Brighton created this unique experience to best fit with the company's temporary home at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Irmo. Its a radio show that creeps into the audience drawing them into the action of the play and enchanting them with a wide variety of stories and music. Think NPRs Prairie Home Companion at the Old Blue Church!
This cast will include Charly Reese; sound man, Bella Penago; radio child star, Kate Brighton; narrator and the professional New York radio personality Mark Lowell will top the cast. The full cast plays multiple characters.
Absolute Theatre Company is a not-for-profit independent professional styled theater company founded in Western North Carolina in 1991 and has produced quality productions in South Carolina since 2002. Located first in Irmo, just off Broad River Rd at Ministry Drive, Absolute has been looking for a permanent home and St. Michael's Lutheran Church at 400 River Road, Irmo has welcomed them to provide professional style, live theater productions right in their own neighborhood. Absolute Theatre Company is grateful for the generosity of the St. Michael's and the use of their facilities.
Tickets for either of the two shows are FREE and Special Reserved seating is available at $15 and will be held at Will Call.
