A Christmas Memory at the HourGlass Tavern 2019
For the 9th year, Fort Beacon Studios has once again obtained permission from the Truman Capote Literary Trust to present a reading of Truman Capotes holiday classic "A Christmas Memory." There will be two readings at the HourGlass Tavern on Restaurant Row in NYC at 373 West 46th Street. Ticket prices are $10.00 in advance with a two drink/food minimum at the HourGlass.
100% of the proceeds from these readings will go to the Big Horizon Project which seeks to broaden the artistic horizons of fine arts students.
"A Christmas Memory" is a heartwarming short-story of Capotes childhood relationship with his elderly, eccentric cousin and best friend, Sook. It is a loving remembrance of their adventures as they gather pecans and other ingredients to bake fruitcakes, hunt for the perfect tree to decorate with their hand-made ornaments and other holiday rituals in rural Alabama. It will be read by Scott Ramsey (Off-off Broadways "Wuthering Heights" and "Ragtime") with direction by Barry Hoff (regional productions of "Pippin", "Bus Stop" and "The Crucible").
