Reverse Engineering and Large Pump Repairs
Reverse Engineering and Large Pump Repairs:
This topic will combine reverse engineering and pump repairs; specifically large pump repairs. The presentation will show how metrology and other processes are used to reverse engineer replacement parts. The generation of drawings and material specifications will be an illustration of the process used to produce a circulation pump impeller for an electric generating plant.
Speaker: Kurt Weis graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He worked for three years with Allis Chalmers in their Custom Pump Division. In 1982, he started Rotating Equipment Repair (RER). Kurt is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Nuclear Society.
