Dear Sammamish Symphony Orchestra Community,
The safety of our guests, volunteers and artists is of the utmost importance to us here at the Sammamish Symphony Orchestra. Due to the increasing health and safety concerns in our community, the symphony has cancelled our concerts planned for Friday, April 17, 2020 in Bellevue and Sunday, April 19, 2020 in Sammamish. We plan to present our Youth Concerto Competition winner Sandy Huang at a future date. To stay in touch with us, please join our mailing list by visiting our website at http://www.sammamishsymphony.org.
Your tickets will be refunded in full by Brown Paper Tickets. Please allow at least two weeks for the refund to process. If you have questions, please reach out to Brown Paper Tickets directly. Contact information can be found at: https://www.brownpapertickets.com/about/locations
With your ongoing support, we can continue to bring music to Sammamish, Bellevue and the greater Eastside communities. During this time, please consider supporting the arts in our community by making a gift to the symphony, perhaps in the amount of what you would have spent to attend our concert. Visit our donor page for ways you can help: http://www.sammamishsymphony.org/Support/Donate.php.
All of us here at the Sammamish Symphony hope you, your families and your friends stay safe during this difficult time. We thank you for your understanding and support.

The popularity of Gustav Holst's The Planets, while certainly well-deserved, has tended to obscure his many other fine compositions. The haunting Somerset Rhapsody will be an evocative and atmospheric introduction to a program which then turns to a suite drawn from Georges Bizet's Carmen, surely one of the half-dozen most beloved operas of all time.
The mightiest and most extroverted of Beethoven's concertos, the Piano Concerto No. 5 ("Emperor"), features the winner of the Symphony's yearly Young Artists Competition, the highly-accomplished Ms. Sandy Huang.
