Growth
Growth will be an intimate performance questioning the intersections of pain, pleasure, and femininity. Witness a beautiful and challenging durational relationship between Amy, Rhiannon, dozens of roses, and a box of surgical staplers.

Artist's Bios

Amy Kingsmill

Since moving to London in 2009 to study I have been exploring its underground scene in tandem with feeding my artistic practice. Here I have been able to cross fertilise queer imagery with fine art aesthetics to create arresting endurance works which solicit the body as a platform and often use dressing as a form of three dimensional surrealist collage. As a recent graduate in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins I have performed at Franko B's Untouchables at Mori and Stien gallery and at Peep Anatomy at Edinburgh Fringe. I have performed at the infamous Torture Garden Club and presented my paper, Pervarts along side Annie Sprinkle at the Performing Porn symposium at Performance Space.

Rhiannon Aarons

Rhiannon Aarons is a Los Angeles based artist, writer, and cultural producer whose practice heavily interrogates issues of legacy, appropriation, social stigma, female sexuality, and information transmission. Born and raised in California, she received a B.F.A. from Otis and an M.F.A. from CSULB. She is a recipient of The Marilyn Werby Endowment Grant, HOGAR Travel Grant, and organizer of Live Art Development Associations Methodologies in Body Art Symposium. Rhiannon compiled, published, and co-edited Bob Flanagans _The Book of Medicine_ with Sheree Rose. In addition to her series of self-published books, her work has been included in Senses of Cinema, RipRap Literary Journal, and Culture on the Offensive, _Emergency Index_, and the upcoming _Rated Rx: Sheree Rose with and after Bob Flanagan_. Rhiannon has exhibited at Jason Vass Gallery, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, Bluecoat Liverpool, University Art Museum, The Tom of Finland Foundation, and The Situation Room. She has given lectures about art and BDSM practices at CalArts and The Marlborough Theatre, and is frequently featured on The Dr. Susan Block Show.
