Music of the Iberian Peninsula
Join Kantorei KC in our season opening program on September 22nd at the beautiful St. Peter's Church in Brookside. This program, will run one hour and will take us to the beautiful and mysterious Iberian Peninsula. We will first travel back in time to an age BEFORE mass printing of music to about 1500. The polyphony of Francisco de PeƱalosa's Missa El Ojo will cascade through the impressive acoustical space.
We will finish in the modern day Basque region with the music of Josu Elberdin and Javier Busto
"Their singing is exceptionally good: flawless intonation coupled with an irresistible warmth and depth." Graham Rickson- The Arts Desk
"There is strength to be heard here but also a ravishing purity...from the Kantorei performances. This may possibly remind you of an Oxbridge choir." Garry Higginson- Music Web International
