This event is a time for the women of the community to come together to learn from each other and discuss Women Feeling Safe in Public Spaces. The event will be led by Charlene Walker, former vice president for Multiculturalism and Inclusion at Bluegrass Community & Technical College. Ms. Walker has spent her life bringing people together and working for civil rights. She was nominated for the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights Hall of Fame, was the Lexington Community College Teacher of the Year in 2002, board chair for the National Conference for Community and Justice, and on the University of Kentucky Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee.
Light refreshments will be served. Space is limited to 100, so please reserve your ticket below.
The event is free and open to the public. The facility is handicapped accessible.
