Mary Elizabeth Micari: "Lady in Black 2 - Between the Sun and the Moon"
Mary Elizabeth Micari continues her journey of self-discovery filled with great humor and memorable music - this time from the emotional 90s. Appearing at Pangea for one-night-only, she joins forces with MAC Award winner, Tracy Stark, to create a breath-taking night of music and memories. Utilizing unique instrumentation, the event will feature classical harpist, Richard Spendio, and rock drummer, John Dinello, playing an array of African and South American instrumentation.

MARY ELIZABETH MICARI is a singer who specializes in Jazz & Blues. She has appeared at Pangea, Dont Tell Mama, The Duplex, Pianos, Freddys, Ottos, and even The Augusta Music Festival Blues Week in West Virginia. She enjoys making her own healing music (including original compositions) using traditional instruments like harp, drums, bowls and tuning forks as well as her voice. Mary is also a trained opera singer, having performed with some of NYCs most respected opera companies for more than a decade. Ironic, since she began her career in a band doing Jefferson Starship. She is co-founder of Genesis Repertory, a non-profit arts & education organization designed to make quality theatre accessible to new audiences. She currently serves as its artistic director and has directed and performed in numerous works. For a long time, her day job was doing makeup and hair in live theater and film. Her credentials in that arena include a dozen Broadway shows, independent films, as well as events at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Roundabout Theater. Mary is also a healer and an ordained Minister utilizing Reiki, Herbalism, Homeopathy, Acupressure, Sound Healing and more. The Magic Apothecary is her line of magickly-infused products for health and healing.

[Mary Elizabeth Micari] knows how to belt as well as how to growl and occasionally roar. She can also switch to slow and sexy to feverishly romantic.  Micaris voice is robust, lusty, and well suited for songs about female empowerment.

And as good an actress as she is, it was her voice which shot the show up into the heavens (or below, as necessary.) Every single note perfectly placed and produced, her vocals poured out of her like the silkiest, best bourbon; intoxicating, leaving one feeling the warm glow of a night well spent with a good friend, and looking forward to another generous pour.
Doug DeVita, CabaretHotSpot

Micari has a powerful lower register and her blues chops are impressive; in Bea Footes Weed, she treated us to her well-regulated upper register.  In addition to singing, she played a mean washboard (with her name picked out on it in sparkles),and took frequent solos on the kazoo.
Jennie Litt, CabaretHotSpot

There is something in the honesty of Rev. Mary and in the warmth of her delivery that makes you open up and lean in effortlessly without any struggle. She has a stage presence that commands softly and casts a spell of musical delight.
