Tell a true story, win a free drink!
Spontaneous Storytelling is an event designed to make it easy to meet other people and tell a true story from your life. Or just listen and laugh! Unlike other storytelling shows where you sit in your seat, at Spontaneous Storytelling we have a warmup game so you talk to people first. Once you've met a bunch of new people, it's easy to get up on the mic and tell a true story. People have made new friends and even gotten dates from this event.
The host assumes no responsibility for how good the date will be, but it's probably better than Tinder.
As a group we pick themes, but we don't know them ahead of time. That's why it's called Spontaneous! And if you've got a great true story that's on a different topic, that's OK too.
All we ask is that stories be true, about YOU, and 5 minutes or less. No comedy sets.

This show has been going for 5 years already in Oakland, and the SF one is a lot of fun as well.
