Carrie The Musical
Debut Theatre Company presents its 2019 Acting Against Cancer production, Carrie The Musical.
Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she's an outcast who's bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she's at the mercy of her loving but cruelly over-protective mother. But Carrie's just discovered she's got a special power, and if pushed too far, she's not afraid to use it.
Based on Stephen King's bestselling novel, the musical, Carrie had an infamous and legendary 1988 Broadway opening. The original Broadway production sold out all shows but closed in days. In 2012, the show's original authors reworked and fully re-imagined a vision of this gripping tale. Set today, in the small town of Chamberlain, Maine, Carrie features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film), music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), and lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose).
Come support the DTC youth and the high quality productions you are accustomed to while supporting their charity of choice, Pedal the Cause. All of the profits from the DTC shows go to PTC which means the money stays locally to fund cancer research in St Louis through the Siteman Cancer Center. DTC never charges ticket fees but we do have a limited amount of VIP seating available. Its a wonderful way to support youth theatre and the arts while finding a great bargain on some wonderful raffle baskets and Fabulous Fox tickets.
Tickets to the event are free but are limited and require a reservation. Reserved seats will be given priority over walk ups. Please reserve your seat, walk ups are not guaranteed seating unless seats remain. See you at the prom!
It is important to note that the venue is not wheelchair accessible and there are steps leading up into the house. There are no ramps at this time.
