Improv Benefit Show
July 28th, 6 pm - Join us for a night of laughter to benefit a tough topic! See veteran Chicago improvisers perform one-night-only in a fundraising show benefitting The Stepping Stones Network, an organization fighting human trafficking in the Chicagoland area. The family-friendly improv show will be in the John and Nancy Hughes Theater at the Gorton Community Center, 400 E Illinois Rd in Lake Forest. 6:00 pm. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Brown Bag Tickets or at the door.
This event is hosted by Liz Allen, acclaimed improv coach and director, who has been in the improv world for 25+ years. Liz won the Del Close teaching award at IO Theater in Chicago 3 years in a row, now called the Liz Allen Excellence in Teaching Award. She directed the first-ever fully-improvised show on the Strip in Las Vegas for The Second City at The Flamingo Hotel, and she coached the improv ensemble in Mike Birbiglia's feature film, Don't Think Twice.
Liz has wanted to contribute in the battle against human trafficking after living in Las Vegas, where she didn't help, so when she learned about The Stepping Stones Network here in Illinois, Liz thought a night of laughter would help bring money and awareness for the cause. Many of her veteran improv peers from Chicago are joining for this performance...some of them you may recognize stages around Chicago, and TV shows.
The show will be family-friendly and fun, as well as productive for The Stepping Stones Network.
