As a performer, Garrick Woods delivers emotionally stirring performances with understanding of a variety of styles. He regularly performed as a member of the Tucson Symphony, as a substitute for the Utah and Hawaii Symphonies and now serves as principal cello of the Eureka Symphony. Garrick has performed as a studio musician on many television, game, and film soundtracks. As Assistant Professor at Humboldt State University, he teaches cello and bass, and directs the Humboldt Symphony. Most recently, he was soloist with the Eureka Symphony playing Tchaikowskys Rococo Variations.
Anthony Polcari, local and renowned cellist is performing with The Trinidad Cello Quartet as part of TBAM's celebration this summer, adding his inimitable sound to this lush arrangement of quartet music for four cellistic voices.
Carol Jacobson has been the Music Director and Conductor of the Eureka Symphony for more than a decade. An accomplished cellist, Ms. Jacobson earned her bachelors degree at Humboldt State University, with further studies at the Salzburg Mozarteum, The Royal Danish Conservatory and the Netherlands Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She was a member of the Netherlands National Ballet Orchestra in Amsterdam, the Netherlands Radio Symphony, the Oslo Opera Orchestra and the Netherlands Strijkers Ensemble. Carol has worked with many conductors including, Valerie Gergiev, Kent Nagano, Jaap van Zweden, Sixten Ehrling and Edo deWaart. She was conductor of the Humboldt State University Orchestra and directed the Humboldt Music Academy. She plays in the Temporary Resonance Ensemble with Terrie Baune and John Chernoff and is principal cellist in the North State Orchestra.
Peter Kibbe hailing originally from the west coast currently enjoys a career playing and teaching his cello from his home in Baltimore, where he is currently a member of several local ensembles and orchestras, including work with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony, and Maryland Symphony, among others. Also highly sought as a technician for interpreting modern music, Mr. Kibbe is a founding member of groups The Pique Collective, The Lunar Ensemble, Mind on Fire, and a recent addition to Naked Eye Ensemble, all of whom are champions of new music and living composers. Having received formal training from several fantastic teachers on both US coasts and earning a degree from The Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Peter currently enjoys sharing his cello playing in small salon and chamber concerts, in orchestral performances, and with his studio of dedicated cello students.
