Speakers for the 2020 CoMo Christian Mens Conference:
Dr. Daniel Doriani is Professor of Theology and Vice President of Strategic Academic Projects at Covenant Theological Seminary. Doriani was educated at Westminster Theological Seminary and Yale University. Doriani has written 15 books including Work: Its Purpose, Dignity, and Transformation (2019) The New Man (2015), 1 Peter (2014),The Life of A God-Made Man (2001), Putting the Truth to Work: The Theory and Practice of Biblical Interpretation (2001), Getting the Message, a Plan for Interpreting and Applying the Bible (1996), and David the Anointed (1982). He is New Testament editor for the Reformed Expositional Commentary series and writes a column for the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals. He is a council member and blogger for The Gospel Coalition. He speaks frequently at conferences especially on Bible interpretation, family, gender, and godly manhood. He and his wife, Deborah, a musician, reside in Chesterfield, Mo and have three daughters and two grandchildren.
Craig Groeschel is the founder and senior pastor of LifeChurch, a multi-site church with locations in ten states. Following a vision God gave him for a different kind of church, he and a handful of people launched LifeChurch in 1996 in a two-car garage. Groeschel performed market research among non-churchgoers and designed his church in response to what he learned. Groeschels non-traditional style was successful and attendance grew rapidly, eventually becoming the largest Protestant church in the United States with 32 LifeChurch campuses and approximately 100,000 people attending weekly. He started the free Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast in 2016. With his team at LifeChurch, he developed the YouVersion Bible app, which has been downloaded over 200 million times. Craig has written several books including his latest release, Hope In The Dark: Believing God is Good When Life Is Not. He and his wife, Amy, live in the Edmond, Oklahoma area and have six children, two sons-in-law, and one grandson.
Tim Lundy is the Senior Pastor of Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos, California and is the co-author of Marriage Oneness: Closeness for a Lifetime. A graduate of Crichton College and Dallas Theological Seminary, Tim has been in ministry for over 28 years. He previously served in leadership roles at Christ Community Church and Fellowship Bible Church, both in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mentored by Dr. Robert Lewis, Tim led Mens Fraternity for 10 years. Tim was also Chaplain for the International Community School and Pastor of the International Community Church in Bangkok, Thailand. He has been married to his wife, Lea, for over 27 years, and they are the parents of seven children, two sons-in-law, and one grandson.
Jonathan "JP" Pokluda is the pastor at Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, and is the former leader of The Porch at Watermark Community Church in Dallas. Under his leadership, the Porch became one of the largest weekly gatherings of 20- and 30-somethings in the world reaching over 4,000 young adults on a weekly basis. After growing up in several different church denominations, JP came to understand the grace of The Gospel in his early twenties. This ignited a desire in him to reach young adults to radically follow Jesus Christ and unleash them to change the world. His belief that millennials are the most underleveraged demographic in the Church inspired JP to write Welcome to Adulting: Navigating Faith, Friendship, Finances, and Your Future. This book has already helped thousands of young adults through some of the most challenging aspects of maturing into adults. JP has taught all over the world, but the ministry he is most passionate about is his family. JP and his wife of 13 years, Monica, now live in Waco with their three children: Presley, Finley, and Weston.
V.J. Smith is the author of the best-selling book, The Richest Man In Town. The book details Smiths relationship with a little old man who ran a cash register at a local WalMart. That guy changed my life, Smith says. He is also the author of, Can You Hear What I See and Jackrabbit Tales. He is one of the nations most sought after speakers making over 100 speaking appearances a year. Smith currently serves as a member of the South Dakota State Senate and is the President of Life's Great Moments located in Brookings, SD.
