In partnership with The Privilege Institute, Hilltop Educator Institute is a Proud Sponsor Of The: White Privilege Symposium Northwest: Building Solidarity in Race and Equity Through Community Partnerships Saturday, May 4th, 2019 Please Join Us for this 1 1/2 day symposium which will feature keynotes by Dr. Robin DiAngelo, Dr. Eddie Moore Jr., and many more! Location: Highline College
Overview:
Many of our systems in the Pacific Northwest and in the United States of America have perpetuated institutional, structural, and systemic barriers adversely impacting children, youth, and people of color. To examine these forms of oppression, we must boldly challenge reforms in our government, education, health, labor, housing, social services, and criminal justice systems. Leveraging a multi-sector approach to address environmental, racial, and gender inequity, The White Privilege Symposium Northwest (WPSNW), brings together advocates, activists, educators, students, youth, politicians, and a community to intentionally embrace strategies, stories and frameworks to build a movement of solidarity and partnerships using a racial equity lens.
This 1 1/2 day symposium led by Dr. Eddie Moore Jr., founder and director of the White Privilege Conference (WPC) and The Privilege Institute (TPI), will feature keynotes from Robin DiAngelo (Seattle, WA), Gyasi Ross (Blackfeet Nation), Dr. Yusef Salaem (Central Park 5) and workshops examining White Supremacy, White Fragility, Indigenous Identity, Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, and many more!
Join us as we bring forward innovative and inclusive solutions to positively transforms the lives of children, youth, and people of color.
