Irish Culture Night with BackWest
Back West in concert is a showcase of imaginative, modern day Irish cultural expression, an explosion of songs, tunes, and dances that are vital to the world of contemporary Irish and world music.
Two musical siblings join a champion bodhrán player/Irish step dancer with lead guitar/vocalist giving this ensemble its own unique sound. Their vast repertoire celebrates the best essence of traditional Irish music, song and dance. Sibling duet on fiddle and button accordion, Maureen and Brendan Browne are the lead instrumentalists and fluent Irish speakers while Galways own Lord of the Dance Peter Vickers brings his unique percussive expression and stylistic dancing to the stage. The Fourth and newest member to the band is renowned guitarist/vocalist from Co. Galway Fabian Joyce.
For these New Jersey dates only BackWest will be joined by another family member and Dance Master Andrew Vickers. Andrew's musicality weaves in and out of the music while complimenting his brother Peter's rhythmic bodhran playing with a hint of sibling rivalry. This will be one of the first outings in the USA for new project The Vickers Brothers.
This is a virtuosic line up rarely seen in New Jersey, that you do not want to miss!
