A first-time model, a webcam sex worker, and a power-hungry homophobe journey through their insecurities and vulnerabilities. This hedonistic and seductive British feature film challenges toxic hyper-masculinity and the abuse of power through three vignettes. Produced by independent, young creatives from England who volunteered their time, Wretched Things had its World Premiere in London's Leicester Square in January to critical acclaim. This provocative and challenging film has its US Premiere at Downtown Independent alongside a Q&A with writer/director Gage Oxley and the films' talent, Bruce Herbelin-Earle and Jack Parr (other cast TBC).

Thursday 13 June 2019, the provocative indie LGBTQ* British film "Wretched Things" has its US Premiere at the Downtown Independent (251 S Main St), starting at 8PM. Following the screening, there will be an exclusive Q&A with award-winning writer/director Gage Oxley, the films' talented cast Bruce Herbelin-Earle and Jack Parr, and producer Sian Carry (additional guests TBC); followed by an after-party inspired by the film. Wretched Things is a hedonistic and seductive British feature film which challenges toxic hyper-masculinity and the abuse of power through a provocative triptych.

Los Angeles celebrates LGBTQ* inclusion and diversity earlier in the week with the Pride Festival & Parade, as well as commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall later in June. Produced by voluntary artists in the birthplace of film, Wretched Things is designed to generate a much-needed discussion on masculinity, sex, and abuse from those in power. In conversation post-film is young writer and filmmaker Gage Oxley, a National Diversity Award Nominee as an LGBTQ* Role Model, known for his work on other LGBTQ* films, "This World We Live In" and "Pulse", which screened at Vancouver International Film Festival and BFI Flare. Joined by Bruce Herbelin-Earle, who is best known for his work on Netflix Original series 'Free Rein', and stars as Kyle in Wretched Things. Actor Jack Parr stars as Joey in Wretched Things in what he describes as his most challenging role to date, and will be part of the exclusive Q&A after the film. Alongside them will be Producer Sian Carry, attending from the non-profit, community-interest production company Oxygen Films, who produces award-winning LGBTQ* content along with Wretched Things.
