Founded in 2008, the Ace Mentor Program of Central Florida, Inc. is the local affiliate of the ACE Mentor Program of America. The program's mission is to motivate and enlighten high school students regarding career opportunities in architecture, construction, and engineering. ACE is a unique partnership among industry professionalsarchitects, interior designers, engineers, construction managers, Subcontractors, college and university representatives, and other professionals from related corporations and professional organizations. This year ACE has hosted 3 locations (90 students) with students from high schools in Osceola, Orange and Seminole counties, both public and private. This program is open to all interested high school students in Central Florida.
The design and construction professionals work together starting in October to show the students first hand what it takes to create a building- starting with the "need" to the final building. Come January, the students select a project to design and along with their mentors' help work towards winning the local competition! The award banquet is where the best jury-selected teams will compete to win the final competition. In addition, the local Board will present scholarships to some of the ACE students using funds raised during the year from corporate sponsors.
