Open Circle: A Documentary Short
There has never been a better time to be a flamenco enthusiast in the Bay Area, where this passionate ancient art-form is thriving. Unleash your inner "fuego" and join us for an evening celebrating flamenco as part of Bay Area Dance week. Discover why Bay Area women are using the dance to connect with, explore, and release emotion, and why flamenco is the original dance of multi-ethnicity and inclusiveness.
The event includes food, beer and wine; a screening of the new 30-minute documentary "Open Circle" by Amir Jaffer about women of all ages whose journey with San Francisco's own maestra Danica Sena to the birthplace of flamenco in Andalucía leads them to emotional transformation.; live flamenco guitar and performance by Córdoba's David Páez Espino and Danica Sena, and a Q&A. Tap into your own flamenco fearlessness and passion. Óle!
