Jaxin's Badass Babes Cabaret
Jaxin's back with a whole new venture! This time around, he's bringing you the baddest babes to bring you a badass show for a unique cause! With the help of our cast, crew and *YOU*, we'll be raising funds for those in need!
The Local Lounge is a quaint, neighborhood bar and has become a home and safe haven for so many of our LGBT*Q+ friends and family and fellow artists and I couldn't think of a better place to kick off BBC!
What is CABARET?? Well, Cabaret is a form of theatrical entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation, or drama. It is mainly distinguished by the performance venue, which might be a pub, a restaurant or a nightclub with a stage for performances. The audience, often dining or drinking, does not typically dance but usually sits at tables. Performances are usually introduced by a master of ceremonies or MC. The entertainment, as done by an ensemble of actors and according to its European origins, is often (but not always) oriented towards adult audiences and of a clearly underground nature. In the United States striptease, burlesque, drag shows, or a solo vocalist with a pianist, as well as the venues which offer this entertainment, are often advertised as cabarets.
I've chosen some of the most badass babes in Portland to kick everything off:
Jaxin Ryan (that's me!) is a graduate of the Rose City School of Burlesque, Mr. Nude Portland 2016, reviewed on Yelp! as some sort of raunchy drag queen, and a traveling entertainer leaving trails of rose petals from your heart to his! He brought you The Jaxin Takeover, a benefit for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and is back in the attack to benefit people in need!
Sindel Macabre Asylum is Nightmare Ada from the house of Ada, Mx. Gay Pride 2013, a dancing fiend and phenomenon, and a babely creature from the depths of dream and wonder who will shatter perception with artistic detail and movement!
Zora Phoenix is a burlesque production powerhouse with more than 300 shows under her belt, voted best emcee in Portland by Willamette Week, the executive director at the Rose City School of Burlesque, has awards and dance experience out the wahooza, and will have you begging to know where to see her next!
Sandria Dorè is the Rose City Showgirl; an internationally traveled and burlesque hall of fame award winning, romp shaking, tattooed pinup and pole dancing rhinestone queen. Shes coy, engaging, and when she werks the room, she has even mama Ru tossing her wig. She's a firestorm of woman, of sex and magic and she will have you on your knees with antici...
Jayla Rose is a choreographer, makeup artist, was seen on America's Got Talent with the Caravan of Glam, has been featured in numerous PRIDE events all over the US and is known for her back flipping, glittering heel stomping, sex bomb hairography and movements!
The night will be filled with hoots and hollars, love and excitement. I hope you will join us in benefitting the confirmation surgery of a beloved member of our community and the art and talents of my badass babes!
