DANCE FOR EVERY BODY (SUMMER 2019)
Love the body you have and make it work for YOU! Join the lovely Queenie von Curves for a dance class with a little burlesque sass. The series incorporates fun, fitness, and several dance forms, including jazz, ballet, modern, and more. All levels are welcome in this nurturing environment. This dance class is for EVERYBODY! Register in advance and you'll save $20! Wear fitness clothes & athletic shoes. Walk-ins welcome.

Cost: $90 advance registration / $120 day of class for 8-weeks or $15 single class

About the Instructor:
QUEENIE VON CURVES is known as the cheeky gal with curves in all the right places! Queenie is a Twin Cities burlesque performer with a background in dance including ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, pointe, character and tap. She moved to Minnesota after graduating from Longwood University with a BFA degree in Theatre Performance. Since becoming a Minneapolitan Queenie has worked as a costume designer, danced as a company member of Ballet of the Dolls, choreographed for New Year's Noire, performed as the Snow Queen in Visions of Sugarplums, produces Naked Girls Reading Twin Cities and has taught numerous burlesque and dance classes. As a queer, vegan, Jewish plus size model, Queenie battles to overthrow the patriarchy by advocating for body positive and self love for all. A ballet school drop out, dance body rebel, a mover and a shaker, every body is welcome to come and dance!
THE TWIN CITIES BURLESQUE ACADEMY, (formally Playful Peacock) the first school of its kind in the Twin Cities, was founded by Ophelia Flame and Gina Louise, who have been performing together since 2003 and teaching burlesque workshops since 2005. The belief that there's a bit of showpony in all of us is the drive behind their mission: to teach burlesque technique, performance, and history while encouraging self-expression and body confidence, welcoming students of all levels and backgrounds. The Academy offers performance opportunities, bachelorette parties & special events.
