BURLESQUE 4: Peeling & Revealing (Fall 2019)
No matter if your goal is to amuse, shock, or titillate, the way you choose to conceal and reveal can make or break your act. The goal of this class is to build knowledge and confidence in artful disrobing. In this 4-week series, you will learn a burlesque number from beginning to end, with an intensive focus on peeling and revealing. We will discuss intention, transitions, building suspense, showing off the layers of your costume, methods for smooth disrobing.
What to wear: Short or long dress with zipper down the back, bra with a back fastener, high heels, and pasties (available for sale). Clothing can be fancy or plain. Boas & gloves are available in class, but you are welcome to bring your own. There will be disrobing in this class but is not required. Register in advance and save!

About the Instructor:
Not known for subtleties, NADI A'MARENA has earned the nickname "Bible School's Baddest Girl" for her biblical sleaze and rock 'N roll tease. With versatile choreography and costuming, Nadi showcases her femme daddy power and queer sexuality while exploring comedic, brazenly sensual, and kinky themes on stage. By utilizing her 5 years of performing, Nadi is excited to begin teaching burlesque courses and help students connect with their bodies and the stage. She hopes to share her experience and love of audience engagement, slow burn sensuality, and polished striptease.
Formerly known as The Playful Peacock Academy, THE TWIN CITIES BURLESQUE ACADEMY is Minnesota's the first school of its kind. Founded by Ophelia Flame and Gina Louise who have been performing together since 2003 and teaching burlesque workshops since 2005. The belief that there's a bit of showpony in all of us is the drive behind their mission: to teach burlesque technique, performance, and history while encouraging self-expression and body confidence, welcoming students of all levels and backgrounds.
