Summit Indie Fest
Summit Indie Fest will take place on May 11, 2019 at Portsmouth Book & Bar in Portsmouth New Hampshire starting at 2 pm.

Our Mission is to gather as a community in the spirit of philanthropy and share our love and passion for music.

We are excited to have two stages running this year, one inside and one outside right in the center of Downtown Portsmouth.

The following artists will be performing:

Kingsley Flood - Boston and Washington, DC  based band with a Billy Bragg-like folk-punk sound (Washington Post) and signature high energy (Rolling Stone).  They have played the main stage at the Newport Folk Festival, have been featured on the History Channel, Lifetime Network and CNN, opened for Josh Ritter, Grace Potter, Lucius, Langhorne Slim.

Troll 2 - A Boston based group of songwriters who play Folk music very loudly, and then someone falls down. They are a "Bluegrass Soul Punk" band playing "in basements and bars across Boston and beyond, enlightening people about important social and political issues like climate justice, addiction, carpet bombings, breakup and alien abduction"(Red Line Roots - New England's premiere music blog).

Carissa Johnson - A musician who has been injecting rock music with a refreshing dose of originality for the past few years. Her blend of 70s punk, power-pop and melodic modern flair has put her at the forefront of Bostons legendary music scene. - Rob Duguay, Motif Magazine. Johnson is known for her straight-forward lyrics, driving, four on the floor melodies, and her band, the Cure-Alls, inimitable live energy. The band's heartening anthemic rock has proven to stand out amongst their contemporaries. In 2017 Johnson and the band won Boston's legendary annual Rock and Roll Rumble and in December took home the New Act of the Year award at Boston's 30th Annual Music Awards at the House of Blues.

The Wolff Sisters - Gritty and raw folk-rock outfit with haunting harmonies and songs reminiscent of washed up wanderers on New Englands salty coasts. Drawing inspiration from blues giants like Howlin Wolf and modern storytellers Dawes, The Wolff Sisters dont fit into one genre of music. In 2015, the trio amplified their performance with the addition of The Last Cavalry. With Joe Soldati on bass and Will Rodriguez on drums, the band seeks to bring that loose blues, roots, and rock n roll sound back into the forefront of the music scene.

Latrell James - Latrell James is a hip-hop artist and producer from Boston, MA. James has become nationally recognized and built a loyal following thanks to his relatable songwriting, engaging live performances and versatile production skills. Garnering much attention as the voice behind Cheerios' 'Good Goes Around' nationally-aired commercial campaign and standout singles such as Boston Music Award Winning 'Song of The Year' Okay and Mona Lisa Bonet.

As The Sparrow - An 8-piece indie rock band from Boston, MA.The songs are fun and surf-y with an underlying dark tone as the band battles themes like loneliness, voyeurism, and getting lost in ones own mind. From local and statewide radio broadcasts to multiple road tours up and down the Northeast, their music has spread across the country through a variety of digital streams and energetic live performances. In 2015, The New England Music Awards nominated As the Sparrow for Best Band in Massachusetts following the release of their EP, The Otherside.

Young Frontier - Folk rock with touches of Bluegrass and Americana. The band is comprised of Daniel King, Bethany Weiman and Joe Young. They are musically Influenced by Ryan Adams, Jeff Buckley, Jason Isbell, The Band, The Lone Bellow, Nickel Creek, The Wood Brothers, Ray Lamontagne.

Gretchen & The Pickpockets - Named after a hometown road with a history for larceny, the group has become known for their unique blend of genres and their energetic live shows. Fronted by vocalist Gretchen Klempa, Gretchen and the Pickpockets are a six piece soul/jazz rock band that features heavy horn lines and improvisation. The band recently released their full length album Falling Rising (2018).

Def.GRLS - The love child of boyhood friends Mark Brickman and Craig Martinson and the surrogate mother to their rock n roll spawn, Hannah Teeter. Perpetually oscillating between the irreverent, macabre, hilarious and heartfelt, the gender and genre bending trio is impossible to pigeon hole.

Tyler Legare - Age does not affect this singer-songwriters musical prowess. Without the frills of a backup band, Tyler's honest and introspective music pours out of him. Truly the sound of a gifted musician who's comfortable with his craft, her demands the listener to want to hear more.
