As America prepares to enter WW2, Hungarian film director Michael Curtiz grapples with political intervention and a dysfunctional relationship with his estranged daughter amid the troubled production of Casablanca in 1942. A biopic on this "hard to work with' director. Mihály Kertész changed his name to Michael Curtiz when he moved to the US.  The film shows the difficulties of producing CASABLANCA and the risks of making an anti-Nazi film for his loved ones lives in Nazi-occupied Hungary.
