2019 Chester County Blues BBQ
The Blues Barbecue will be held Saturday, June 1 2019 Rain or Shine!
There is a large tent for shelter and you are welcome to bring your own canopies.
The Chester County Blues BBQ is an annual event sponsored by the Coventry Lions Club featuring regional and national Blues performers. All proceeds from the event go to support the charitable activities of the Lions Club.
Tickets for the event are $15 in advance online or $20 in cash at the gate. Children 12 and under are free. Online tickets sales will be suspended at 9am on the day of the event. Tickets will only be available at the gate after that time for $20 (cash).
Food, refreshments and beer will be available for purchase from vendors on site. Admission ticket does not include food and beverage. We recommend bringing a folding chair for seating. Coolers are permitted.

JOE LOUIS WALKER
NPR Music has called Walker a legendary boundary-pushing icon of modern blues, and he is already being referred to within the blues world as a living legend. He is a Blues Hall of Fame inductee and four-time Blues Music Award winner and celebrates a career that exceeds a half a century. A true powerhouse guitar virtuoso, unique singer and prolific songwriter, he has toured extensively throughout his career, performed at the worlds most renowned music festivals, and earned a legion of dedicated fans. BILL KIRCHEN
Grammy nominated guitarist, singer and songwriter Bill Kirchen is one of the fortunate few who can step on any stage, play those trademark licks which drove the seminal Commander Cody classic Hot Rod Lincoln into the Top Ten nationwide, and elicit instant recognition. Named a Titan of the Telecaster by Guitar Player Magazine, he celebrates a musical tradition that embraces rock n roll, blues and bluegrass, Texas Western swing and California honkytonk. Nick Lowe describes Bill as ... a devastating culmination of the elegant and funky a really sensational musician, with enormous depth. (3:45 PM)
ROGER GIRKE
Roger Girke is one funky blues playing, road tested guitarist, singer and writer whose career has spanned over 4,000 live shows, concerts and festivals and numerous recording sessions and releases. The Roger Girke Band was a top 10 finalist in the 2009 International Blues Challenge and also two time top tier CD finalists* in 2005 and 2009. Since the 90's roger has released 5 CD's with his band and has regularly performing at blues festivals, clubs and concerts throughout the Mid-Atlantic. In that time he has also recorded and performed with Gary Allegretto, Sam Cockrell, Jimmy Pritchard and others. (2:00 PM)
VOODOO DEVILLE
The Voodoo DeVille band has been a local Chester County favorite since 1998. While Chicago blues was their starting point, their repertoire has expanded to include jump, boogie, swing, early rock 'n roll, and rockabilly. Counting many of the greats as their idols and influences, they don't feel bound to stick strictly to one style or one way of playing. If it's fun to play, then it's in their set list. The music is upbeat and danceable and proven to please a wide range of audiences. Voodoo DeVille will be playing in the beer tent between acts. (1:00 PM and between sets in the beer tent)
