Friday Morning Music Club originated in Washington, D.C. in the mid-1880s as an informal club for the study of music. Today they are the Washington area's premier producer of free classical music, and not just on Friday mornings.
FMMC musicians will return to the J to present an exciting blend of old and new musical masterpieces with a Jewish connection. The program includes George Gershwin's wonderful Cuban Overture, works by Felix Mendelssohn, and a lovely newly-commissioned piece for flute and piano by Jewish American composer, Andrea Clearfield.
