JCC Chicago Jewish Film Festival - A Fortunate Man
This film by Academy Award-winning director, Bille August, is Denmark's official entry for the Academy Awards for best foreign film this year. A young man rejects his strict religious upbringing and flees his home and family to become an engineer. As he gets his projects up and running and is about to marry into a rich Jewish family, he quickly climbs the social ladder. But Pers childhood keeps haunting him and his dogmatic family cannot accept his new life and Jewish fiancée.
