Investing in Women Workshop
Can you afford to live the life you dream of? Economic insecurity is at the root of many of the problems women and girls face in RI. More than 13.7% of RIs working age women lived below the poverty line in 2017- we ranked 22 out of 50 states. Increased investment in women is proven to significantly improve family outcomes, which in turn reduces poverty, helping to strengthen community and promote economic growth.
During this session, we'll explore the status of women and the gender gap, exploring wealth strategies that can mitigate the wealth gap. Finally, participants will create a values driven personal philanthropy plan that supports women's success. Kelly Nevins, Executive Director of the Women's Fund of Rhode Island will facilitate the session.
$15 for tickets sold prior to May 24; $20 thereafter. Scholarships available at knevins@wfri.org. A light breakfast will be provided. Sponsored by BankNewport.
