Miss Cheesemonger Sings
The classical singer and force behind the cheese blog Miss Cheesemonger, Veronique Kherian, celebrated collaborative pianist Dwight Okamura, and San Francisco specialty food shop Cheese Plus present to you a recital that will engage all of your senses. Veronique and Cheese Plus have prepared a tasting menu of artisan cheeses and wines to accompany a program of French art songs and arias, so you can experience opera in a whole new way.

VERONIQUE KHERIAN turned her lifelong love of cheese into the blog Miss Cheesemonger 9 years ago. Since then, she has tasted hundreds of different cheeses from around the world, met cheesemakers and dairy animals in the US and abroad, and walked among wheels of aging cheese. As a classically trained mezzo-soprano, she has performed in various operas and operettas throughout the Bay Area, including Il Trovatore, Pagliacci, HMS Pinafore, Candide, and others. DWIGHT OKAMURA has been the orchestral pianist for the Berkeley Symphony, the California Symphony, the Skywalker Symphony and the San Francisco Symphony. He has accompanied various Bay Area vocal ensembles including Chanticleer, Musae, Young Womans Choral Projects, the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, and the San Francisco Girls Chorus. He is also the musical director of The Songbirds, awomens singing group that provides outreach services to facilities around the BayArea. Dwight is also a keyboardist with the Best of Broadway series, and has played for the pre- Broadway premiers of Beautiful, Wicked, The Mambo Kings, Lestat, Legally Blonde and Mamma Mia, in addition to The Lion King and the revival of A Chorus Line, where he also played on the cast recording.
