Sneak Peek! The Curious Scroll Short Documentary and Community Dialogue
Come to this community feedback night on this documentary and project in process! The admission is Free!
The footage includes people from all over Santa Cruz County making art and having conversations exploring questions like: How will our ugly political discord become thoughtful conversation?
Artist and psychotherapist and Curious Scroll producer Andrew Purchin, will facilitate a community conversation on this topic.
The Curious Scroll is 170 foot long. Purchin traveled with it to the Republican and Democratic National Conventions in 2016. People from all walks of life found their calm as they listened to a guided art making meditation while drawing and painting on the scroll.
Recently in Santa Cruz County, dynamic conversations occurred when people make art on the scroll while answering these questions: What's beautiful? What's ugly? How does something ugly in life or in the news become beautiful? Would you be willing to share a strong political opinion that we might disagree on?
These stories and more are painted on top of the embodied art of hundreds of people who found their calm on The Curious Scroll at the 2016 political conventions.
With your help the Curious Scroll and documentary crew can spring into action in contentious swing states before the 2020 election. How will our ugly political discord become thoughtful conversation?
