A Sonoma County Nutcracker, presented by New World Ballet
Victor Temple and New World Ballet's modern version of the Nutcracker provides audiences with a unique experience highlighting the bounty of Sonoma County. The ballet replaces its traditional German setting and is transformed into a locally-focused, theme-based production including wineries, vineyards, the ocean, and hills. The choreography includes an array of characters that portray local agricultural and cultural icons of this county, humorously referencing the land of coastal fog, dancing apples, woolly sheep and more in the land of vineyards. This is a multicultural presentation referencing our diverse cultural and farm-based climate. The Sonoma Nutcracker will give Sonoma County its own production company and a more innovative artistic identity.
About New World Ballet: As a minority-founded 501c3 public charity, New World Ballet has the opportunity and obligation to expose under-served groups such as kids at risk and minority populations, who will both perform and appreciate the art of dance. New World Ballet offers a dance program that encourages diversity and inclusivity, combining talent and integrity of classically trained teachers with backgrounds in professional productions.
