Spring Arts Trip: Richmond, Virginia
Upon arrival, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition "Fresh Paint: Murals Inspired by the Story of Virginia" at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. Inspired by how Richmond's street art community is telling the story of the city and state today, this unprecedented exhibition explores the power of murals to encourage reflection on Virginia's past. Artists were invited to produce works inspired by one or more historical items from the museums collection, and in so doing, examine our present and inspire us to think about ways we can shape the future.
Following our tour, take some free time to explore the VMHC and visit the nearby Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Grab lunch at the VMFA's Amuse Restaurant (reservation suggested), Best Café, or another nearby restaurant.
Maier Members receive year-round free admission to VMFA ticketed exhibitions and a 10% discount in the VMFA Shop, Amuse Restaurant, and Best Café! To become a Maier Member, join at www.maiermuseum.org/membership
We will be using Randolph Colleges mini buses. Trip-goers are welcome to bring food and drinks on the bus. Payment due by March 25.
