The Great Necks Concert & CD Release Party
The Great Necks hold a Concert and CD Release Party for their upcoming debut CD on the Sony/Frameworks Label. It will be on Monday, November 12th at St Pauls on the Green Church, Norwalk. Doors open at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm concert.

The Great Necks alchemizes three personalities -- think Popeye, Tom Cat, and Pepé le Pew -- and a range of musical idioms into a single, explosive unity. The ensemble is also an act of loving devotion to the guitar, that most marvelous of instruments once famously described by the late Andrés Segovia as an orchestra in miniature. The arrangements heard on this album, our debut, are all original, and each in its own way tugs at the conventions of the instrument. In our arrangements of Sibelius Finlandia, of Márquez Danzón no. 2, and of Bachs Orchestral Suite no. 3, we telescope the panoply of timbres, colors, and sounds heard in an orchestra through the keyhole of the guitar, and in so doing, claim that repertoire as our own. In our arrangements of Scriabins Preludes, op.11, of Bachs Chromatic Fugue, and of Villa-Lobos Alma Brasileira, we carve new contours and splash new colors onto classic works best known until now on their native keyboard. In our arrangement of Albéniz Asturias, we revisit -- and reinvent, to thrilling effect -- one of the most beloved pillars of the guitar (and piano) repertoire.

Tickets are Adult: $20, 18 and Under: $10
A special CD release package will be available for $20, which includes a copy of the CD, and also a downloadable link of the album for you or a friend.
