AN UNREAL EVENING OF SURREAL AND IMPOSSIBLE ACTS RETURNS TO CHILL THE PARLOR OF MYSTERY ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30TH AT 7PM
Continuing its unique, once-a-year tradition, the October Parlor of Mystery will darken the lights and present a night of unexplainable, bone-chilling and mysterious acts, unearthing the darker sides of life, death and the spirits who cross between them. Join your guides Dr. Todd Landman, Thaddeus, Joe Silkie, and Mike Maione to a place where anything might, can and WILL happen.
Dr. Todd Landman is a professional magician and mystery entertainer based in the United Kingdom. As the world's first and foremost Academic Magician, Dr. Landman is a member of the prestigious Magic Circle (AIMC with Silver Star), Founder of Psycrets: The British Society of Mystery Entertainers, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), and Visiting Professor of Performance Magic. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Dr. Landman is now a well-traveled polymath who has performed all over the world and combines his academic pursuits with performing close-up, parlor and stage magic that baffles entertains and educates all at the same time.
Dr. Landman will take us on a journey into unknown, enchanting and surprising worlds where we will experience strange coincidences, learn about unknown correspondences, and take part in numerous demonstrations that defy rational explanation.
Thaddeus has been performing in Long Island theaters for over 30 years as an actor and a magician. Thaddeus annually performs his one-person magic show at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center to raves. With wife Debbie, Thaddeus runs the South Shore Theatre Experience. Thaddeus is also one of the founders of The Parlor of Mystery and often produces and emcees the shows. Thaddeus will attempt to reach out to spirits beyond the grave, and invite them into our world while trying to avoid being terrifyingly pulled into theirs.
Joe Silkie has been a driving force in magic for many years and is considered by many to be both an elegant performer of the classics, and the inventive creator behind numerous powerful effects used by many successful magicians. Joes artistic skills, however, tend to reflect best in his obscure and uncanny presentations at the Halloween shows that always leave the audience both spooked and amazed. A co-founder of the Parlor of Mystery, Joe promises that this years show will raise more than just goosebumps.
Mike Maione is one of the founders of the Parlor of Mystery and frequently produces and performs at Parlor of Mystery shows. Although better known for family magic, Mikes presentation at the Halloween show will have a decidedly more grown-up and spookier flavor. Maione also lectures and has produced magic props and routines used by performers around the world.
The Parlor of Mystery's is one of many programs presented at the South Shore Theatre Experience in Lindenhurst. It's the perfect place to experience parlor and close-up magic. It is a small black box theater with comfortable tiered seating for 40. The Parlor of Mystery is one of many productions that take place at the South Shore Theatre Experience, which is located at 115 South Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst ~ 631-669-0506. The South Shore Theatre Experience is a non-profit organization that produces original works and theater classics as well as conducting acting classes & workshops.
Parlor of Mystery shows usually take place on the fourth Sunday of every month with different magicians performing different effects.
