Constellations
Kimberly Hamilton and Michael Howell are bringing back Nick Payne's "Constellations" af Pulp Theatre, greater Atlanta area 668 11th St NW Atlanta, GA 30318. All proceeds go to charity for the American Cancer Society. There are two performances Friday June 28th and Saturday June 29th at 8pm.
Constellations is a play about infinite possibilities including themes like love, loss, morality, hope, compassion, and qauntum mechanics. One of the most profound themes explores the effects that cancer can have on the mind and body. We are presenting this show in June as a staged reading to raise money for cancer research.
It's been six months since we brought an emotional multiverse to life with multiple wonderful directors. And now we've decided to bring this play back for two more nights to raise money for cancer research, but this time we're exploring this writing with a new and different approach as a staged reading with multiple actors.
Constellations is a play that explores endless possibilities so instead of trying to recreate the same universes crafted in our previous show, this time we are putting the past variations of these characters aside and wiping the slate clean. We are letting go of past directing and acting choices and reading through the material like crutch dialogue with fresh eyes and an open mind to discover new territory with these characters and this time we wont be the only actors.
We are inviting any actors who want an opportunity to play with this rich material to jump up on stage and read their version of Marianne or Roland for one universe of their chosing. Last year, we really enjoyed giving our artistic friends an opportunity to direct an unconventional piece of theatre and this year we are very excited to give our acting friends an opportunity to perform a unique version of this limitless multiverse.
If you're interested in playing a variation of Marianne or Roland in our staged reading, email constellationsplay@gmail.com if you'd like to read the script and select a universe that inspires you. Or if you like the element of surprise, just show up to the show and we'll add your name to the list of actors and we'll select a universe for you :)
All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society -brain cancer division
