Dance for Humanity
Sonoma County's Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble presents a benefit concert and dance for Doctors Without Borders on Sunday, Sept 23 from 3:30-6 pm at the First Presbyterian Church at 939 B St. in Petaluma.
Here is a link to the Doctors Without Borders website to see the kind of help they provide to those in dire situations, like epidemics, malnutrition and starvation, war zones, and climate- induced suffering: https://www.msf.org/
Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble will feature dance and klezmer music from Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean Basin, Israel, Yemen, the Ukraine, Roumania, Moldava, and more!
Many generous local vendors are supporting the event, including Della Fattoria (think amazing, freshly baked pastries!), J.M. Rosen (think to-die-for cheesecake!), Taylor Lane (formerly Taylor Maid) Organic Coffee, Petaluma Market, Sprouts Market, Trader Joe, Raleys, and Safeway!
Ticket price includes food and (non-alcoholic) beverages!
Suggested Donation: Sliding $35-$75 or more!
For those who are unable to attend, but would like to offer their support, you can donate here or at the Doctors Without Borders link: https://events.doctorswithoutborders.org/campaign/Dance-for-Humanity
We are grateful to all of these vendors, to the musicians and dance instructor, who are donating their services, and to First Presbyterian Church of Petaluma for hosting the benefit!
Musicians: Sonia Tubridy accordion, Sarah Jo Zaharako violin, Eric Perny acoustic bass, Phil Lawrence mandolin, Paul Alexander clarinets and Larry Kass Sephardic and Yiddish vocals.
Dance leading and instruction by Karen Bergen.
We sincerely hope that you can join us in supporting the compassionate, life-saving work of this Nobel Prize-winning organization.
