Art for All September 2018 Workshop: Pattern Art
I am happy to conduct fine art workshops at North Bellevue Community Center in association with India Association of Western Washington (IAWW) Community Program.
In 2018, I plan to bring to you 12 unique hands-on workshops each showcasing an art form from India. We will together explore the history of Indian art, it's rich storytelling, and how factors like topography, culture, tradition, religion and the dynasties which once ruled these lands have influenced it.
In each class you will create a "master piece" to take home from the workshop while learning tips and tricks specific to the art forms and mediums used.
In September, come learn how to use repetition and rhythm of structured patterns to create beautiful artwork. All Indian art forms are rich in use of patterns -- this class will give students the groundwork and core concepts they can apply to all other art forms from India. Students will learn creation, use and placement of the right patterns in order to produce contrast, texture and depth in the artwork. 'Pattern Art', is a meditative art form which exercises your brain, increases focus and creativity while being relaxing at the same time. Create a finished masterpiece to take home.
