Tickets and camping will be available at the festival admissions table beginning at noon on Friday, October 19th.
The 13th Annual Austin String Band Festival will be held on October 19-21, 2018, just west of Austin at beautiful Camp Ben McCulloch near Driftwood, Texas. It's one of the best-kept secrets in the Austin area, a music festival with small crowds in a lovely natural setting, with close-in parking. Presented by the Austin Friends of Traditional Music, this family-friendly festival features live performances and workshops of Bluegrass, Cajun, Old-Time Appalachian, Conjunto, Swing, Gospel and other traditional music styles. We have great food on site.
On Friday, enjoy live music, old time square dancing and honky-tonk, and campground jamming all night. Early on Saturday, attend hands-on music kids workshops under the trees then kick back for a day and night of nonstop fiddles, banjos and guitars as more than two dozen concert and dance bands take the stage, with jamming all over the festival site. Sunday wraps it up with an open gospel sing.
Camping is at its finest in our lovely October weather, on a first come, first served basis. Buy one camping permit for each tent or camping vehicle (not per person) for each night you will be with us. Camping permits, with or without electricity, can now be purchased online or at the festival ticket booth beginning at noon on Friday. Campers arriving before Friday, Oct. 19 will pay pre-festival camping fees directly to Camp Ben McCulloch. Sorry, no dogs are allowed; a list of kennels is available. October is beautiful in the Texas hill country. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right.
Tickets and camping will be available at the festival admissions table beginning at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 19th, 2018. When online ticket sales have ended, you can still purchase tickets at the festival.
