The Region IV Community Services Boards Prevention Division in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Central Virginia (NAMI-CVA) is pleased to invite you to the Be Well VA 2018 Suicide Prevention Conference

Presentations & Workshops By:

Terri Tanielian, M.A.
Senior Behavioral Scientist, Nationally Recognized Expert on Veteran Mental Health, CoStudy Director for 'Invisible Wounds of War,' & Former Director of the RAND Center for Military Health Policy Research

Dr. Mitchell Reid, Psy.D.
Dr. Reid is a clinical psychologist who has been practicing in the Richmond area for approximately five years. He earned his doctorate from Howard University in 2010 with a focus in child clinical psychology.

Dr. Catherine Mills, Psy.D.
Dr. Mills provides psychological services at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP). She specializes in psychological assessment.

Dr. John Benesek, Psy.D, LCP
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Benesek is a psychologist at McGuire Veteran Administration Medical Center & Assistant Professor with VCU School of Medicine.

Carlos Hopkins, LTC, Secretary of Veterans & Defense Affairs
Secretary Carlos Hopkins previously served as Counsel to the Governor. Prior to this he served as a Deputy City Attorney in Richmond. In addition to his civilian legal experiences, Carlos holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Virginia Army National Guard.

Malaina Poore, M.A.
Malaina Poore, Network Program Director of vocal, is also a trained Trauma Informed Care facilitator through SAMHSA & an E-CPR Facilitator through the National Empowerment Center.

Rebecca Textor, CPS
Rebecca Textor has worked in the Community Services Board system since 2010, is a Certified Prevention Dpecialist & the DBHDS Region 1 Suicide Prevention Coordinator.  She is one of the developers of & current program coordinator for Lock & Talk Virginia.  

3.75 CE Units awarded with full attendance

$10 entry fee includes buffet lunch, refreshments, garage parking, raffle ticket, & door prizes

The Region IV Community Services Boards Prevention Division includes: Hanover CSB, Henrico Area CSB, Goochland Powhatan Community Services, Southside Community Services, Richmond Behavioral Health Authority, Crossroads CSB, District 19 CSB, and Chesterfield CSB. This event is funded by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

Agencies: Please bring one piece of literature on your organization for the resource table! We will also be collecting centerpieces again this year! Please let us know if you would like to participate in the creation of a centerpiece!
