MoonJune recording artist and progressive jazz-rock pioneers: SOFT MACHINE
50th Anniversary "Hidden Details" Tour

JOHN ETHERIDGE guitar
THEO TRAVIS sax, flute, Fender Rhodes
ROY BABBINGTON bass guitar
JOHN MARSHALL drums

SOFT MACHINE is a legend and an institution of British music, a band who included Robert Wyatt, Daevid Allen, Mike Ratledge, Kevin Ayers, Andy Summers (later of The Police), Hugh Hopper, Elton Dean, Roy Babbington, John Marshall, Karl Jenkins, Allan Holdsworth, John Etheridge, Percy Jones, Rick Sanders, Dave McRae and Jack Bruce among others (Jimi Hendrix briefly jammed with the band in 1968!). Since its creation in 1966, this band pioneered Psychedelic and Progressive Rock, led the 'Canterbury' trend, pioneered jazz-rock, and then guitar-led fusion (launching the guitar god Allan Holdsworth in 1974), influenced generations of musicians. Disbanded in 1978, recreated in few occasions in 1981 and 1984, the band resurfaces in 1999 under the name of Soft Ware. Much was said about this band with a very complex intriguing history of constant personal changes during the 1966-1978 period. The band resurrected in 1999 under the name of Soft Ware, then as Soft Works 2002-2004 and Soft Machine Legacy 2004-2015. In December 2015, it was confirmed that the band had dropped the "Legacy" tag from their name, as the band featured three of the group's 1970s era members   guitarist John Etheridge, drummer John Marshall and bassist Roy Babbington (from the seminal 1976's album "Softs"), in addition to flute and sax player Theo Travis  returning to the original name from 2015, and performing numerous concerts all around Europe, South America and Japan. SOFT MACHINE will make their first North American tour since 1975 (Holdsworth era) in October 2018, followed by the second North-American leg of the tour in January/February 2019. The band's brand new studio album "Hidden Details" will be released worldwide in August 2018.

Accordo dei Contrari
https://accordodeicontrari.wordpress.com/
Accordo dei Contrari was formed in 2001 in Bologna, Italy, conceived as a vehicle for making original instrumental music. For three years, they worked as a trio with Cristian Franchi on drums, Giovanni Parmeggiani on keyboards and Alessandro Pedrini on guitar. In 2003, Daniele Piccinini joined the band on bass, but soon Alessandro Pedrini departed. They became a quintet in January 2004 with Cristian Franchi on drums, Giovanni Parmeggiani on keyboards, Daniele Piccinini on bass, Marco Marzo on guitar and Vladimiro Cantaluppi on violin. In 2006 Vladimiro Cantaluppi left the band  just one month before recording. Thus Accordo dei Contrari recorded their very first work as a quartet (Cristian Franchi on drums, Giovanni Parmeggiani on keyboards, Daniele Piccinini on bass, Marco Marzo on guitar), and the album Kinesis was the result. With two days of live-recording in studio in June 2006, with short overdubs of violin and sax in October-November 2006, Kinesis (AltrOck 2007) was critically acclaimed and won the Prog Award for the best Italian album of progressive rock in 2007.

Since 2007, they have focused their attention on improvisation, polyrhythms, and playing together and interacting musically on stage: they wanted to grow as a living rock group. They started playing some gigs during the period 2008-2009 in Europe (AltrOck festival in Milan, Italy; Progrésiste in Verviers, Belgium; Cheese Prog festival in Strasbourg, France; Gong festival in Parma, Italy; Freakshow Artrock festival in Würzburg, Germany) and worked on new compositions, both acoustic and electric. They were engaged in 2010 for the prestigious NEARfest 2011 in Bethlehem, PA, USA, before it was unfortunately cancelled. In the meanwhile, they started collaboration with Richard Sinclair (ex Caravan, Hatfield and the North, Camel) for live-acts.

They recorded their second album, Kublai, in July 2010 at Mauro Paganis Officine Meccaniche, in Milan, and published it as a self-production in April 2011. One of the recorded songs, Lombra di un sogno, features Richard Sinclair on vocals. In September 2012, they played at the prestigious ProgDay (Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA), their very first venture overseas.

In the year 2013, they worked on new material, and after a two-day and a one-day period of recording (on January 17-18 and February 15, 2014) at Loris Ceronis Le Dune, in Riolo Terme, they published their third, (again) totally instrumental album, AdC (AltrOck 2014). Here the formula of the electric quartet is occasionally enriched by violin, viola and cello. In August 2014, they played at the prestigious Crescendo Festival (Saint Palais sur Mer, France). As a trio without bass, they also played at Berchidda Festival, organized by the famous trumpet player Paolo Fresu. In the meanwhile, bass player Daniele Piccinini left the band (August/September 2014).

Accordo dei Contrari started working on their fourth album, Violato Intatto, as a trio without electric bass. Then Stefano Radaelli, on alto & baritone sax, joined the band (January 2016). Violato Intatto, which was recorded from 16 to 23 July, 2016, is a double album, and was released in May of 2017. It is testimony to the inspiration, efficiency and variety of forms of the new quartet (Cristian Franchi on drums, Giovanni Parmeggiani on keyboards, Stefano Radaelli on alto & baritone sax, Marco Marzo on guitar).

Accordo dei Contraris influences range from rock progressive music and rock-jazz of seventies, to contemporary jazz and classic music of 20th century (Stravinsky, Messiaen).

Beledo
http://beledo.com/

New York City based guitarist, pianist, and composer, Beledo was born in Montevideo Uruguay. He began formal music and piano study at age six. As the British Invasion began to take hold of airwaves around the world, influenced by the Beatles and other emerging pop rock bands, he gravitated towards and discovered a natural proficiency for guitar.

Beledo gained guitar-hero status in his teens, playing every theatre in his hometown of Montevideo, and captivating audiences in Uruguay and Argentina.

After a brief tenure with Uruguayan rock and blues super-group, Dias de Blues, Beledo pioneered the jazz-rock band, Maytreya, and later on, the mythical Siddhartha, inspired by the burgeoning jazz-fusion movement (Chick Corea, Weather Report, Soft Machine & etc.). His fusion efforts of the early 80s in South America, during which he appeared at top venues and recorded with Pedro Aznar (formerly with Pat Metheny Group), Ruben Rada, and the legendary band, Opa, attracted media attention in the U.S., where he gained recognition as an upcoming talent in GUITAR PLAYER and JAZZIZ magazines.

Formal music studies continued throughout his college career. He performed classical music recitals on National Public Radio and in numerous theaters. While attending the University School of Music in Uruguay, he was a founding member of The University Conservatory Jazz Quartet, the universitys first jazz ensemble, sponsored by the school in an effort to integrate jazz into the traditional curriculum.

Beledo is the guitar player on the album, FORWARD MOTION, by the South African Jazz band, Ojoyo, featuring saxophonist and band leader, Morris Goldberg; drummer, Anton Fig and bassist Bakithi Kumalo.

In 1996 Beledo toured Europe and the Caribbean with the TROPICAL TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES, featuring Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Tito Nieves, Cheo Feliciano, and an all-star line up of Latin artists.

In 2007, Beledo released MONTEVIDEO JAZZ DREAMS (Gudari Records), featuring Stefon Harris, Randy Brecker, Manolo Badrena, Mark Walker, Andy Middleton, David Finck, Jorge Camiruaga and Chris Komer.

Beledo's latest project, ON A MISSION, with his band, The Avengers, won critical acclaim on tour in South America through Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, gaining excellent reviews and strong CD sales in Japan, the U.K., France, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Australia and more. The Avengers are Beledo on guitar, Adam Holzman on keyboards, Lincoln Goines on bass, and Kim Plainfield on drums. The band toured Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay and played in Racife Porto Alegre, Montevideo Jazz Festival, Buenos Aires Jazz Festival, Cordoba Jazz Festival, Neuquén. They finished with an unforgettable concert at the Teatro Lavalleja in Minas, Uruguay, Beledo's hometown.

Beledo signed with Moonjune Records  NYC in 2013, and traveled to Canada to record with Romanian keyboardist, Gia Ionesco, alongside guitarist Alex Machacek, drummer Virgil Donatti and bassist Anthony Crawford. A subsequent Ionesco session was scheduled in New York, which included Mauro Pagani on violin, Jimmy Haslip on bass, Asaf Sirkis on drums, Johnny Johnson on sax, and Mino Cinelu on percussion.

Additional outstanding Moonjune Records collaborations included work with the extraordinary Indonesian World Jazz Fusion band, Simak Dialog, with pianist Riza Arshad and guitarist Tohpati at Orion Studio, Baltimore, MD (09/07/13). Beledo also performed in a duo with Indonesian superstar guitarist, Dewa Budjana in Princeton and Burlington in a Southern New Jersey mini-tour on Dewa's last visit to the States, and recorded with Indonesia's premiere pianist, composer/ arranger/ conductor/ producer, Dwiki Dharmawan.
