Commedia Company Weekly Show
See it for the 1st time or come back again! Join the community of ha-ha-ha! It's a different show every night! 'Cause there's improv. And also - different actors under different masks. Wanna geek out over the subtle differences between one actor's Smeraldina and another's - we got you! And also - The company is comprised of 16 of the most dangerously talented, bravest, funniest and most exquisite actors in the world, but it's not always going to be the whole company so different combos and different actors will be featured each go around. Figure out which ones are your favorites. Collect them all! And also - new material each week. Who knows what is gonna happen next? Not us!
And it's a party!!! There's a bar. Come at 6:30 to hang out a bit, have a drink & rock out to the carney-stravaganza that is musician Alex Orthwein. Ask Jarrod where he's going after the show - that guy always carries the fun out the stage door.
Each week our company of top-of- their-game Funny School of Good Acting faculty and alums transform space and time with nothing but some hunks of leather on their faces. A different line up and a different show each night means you can come every week and see something youve never seen before . . . in more ways than one!
Its not your Great-Great- Great-Great- Great-European- Grandfathers Commedia! We dont do it the Renaissance way, at least not in public (what company members do on their own time is their own damn business). Its part stand-up, part improv, part physical comedy, part character comedy, part political comedy and all imagination. These virtuoso actors switch locations and characters at a lightening pace and explode reality into a world made up of music, pantomime, and cultural and political reference. Come scratching around that backdoor just right and youll find yourself sucked into a whole new world to explore Think Robin Williams on a late night talk show (but with masks!). The heart of Commedia continues to beat out the rhythm of Stick it to the man! so keep your hands and feet inside the car as we careen together through the ensuing anarchy and pandemonium!
