Cooking with Whole Foods: All About Broth
Cooking With Whole Foods is monthly series of hands-on workshops offered by the Clallam Canning Company. Workshops are scheduled on the first Sunday of every month and take place at the Triple C Kitchen Farm in Port Angeles, WA. All workshops include tastings, techniques, recipes and follow-up support.
This class will teach the whys and hows of making delicious meat, bone, and vegetable based broths and how to integrate these nourishing broths into your cooking. For this event, we will be using bones from locally raised animals from Clark Farm in Sequim. Each student will go home with a jar of broth made during the workshop.
This workshop will be taught by Betsy Wharton, owner of the Clallam Canning Company, purveyor of artisan pickles and other wildly delicious farm to jar products. She writes the Peninsula Kitchen recipe column for the Peninsula Daily News and has been teaching food preservation for nearly a decade.
