Fair Ayres from the British Isles
Baroque Music Montana explores the consort and folk repertoire from the 1680s British Isles. This concert will pair local baroque violinist Carrie Krause with her esteemed mentor, Ingrid Matthews. Artistic and elegant Ingrid founded the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, and has an extensive award winning discography. The mellow and aristocratic viola da gamba makes its Baroque Music Montana debut, played by Joanna Blendulf, with bass lines by lutenist John Lenti. The performance will take place in an intimate space with refreshments. Cerebral fantasias, quirky sonatas, and jiggy tunes by Blow, Matteis, Purcell, Jenkins, Locke, and Neal Gow.
