Appalachian Singing In Sacred Places
1:00 - 4:00 Singing Workshop 7:00 Concert
Michael and Carrie Kline spent decades in the mountains of West Virginia, documenting the music of the area's residents. They will share the ancient ballads that make deep connections with the culture, landscapes and history of the Allegheny Highlands and the coalfields of Appalachia. Whether you are a new or experienced singer, or simply interested in gaining insight into the complexity that is Appalachia, Michael and Carrie will help create a supportive and joyful afternoon community to sing with.
CONCERT: Michael and Carrie's concert will highlight their sweet and powerful harmony singing and exquisite choice of songs that cover traditional and modern singer songwriters. They are recipients of several fellowships which have led to numerous recordings. This impressive research comes out on stage, captivating the audience and stirring the emotions.
$60 includes admission to the workshop and evening concert; $30 ages 12-17. Concert only: $15 General Admission
