Washington State University Extension of Yakima County is offering facilitator training for this research- and evidence-based, internationally-recognized best practice model. The training will cover the Spanish language Fortaleciendo Familias Program (FF), which is a cultural-adapted version of Strengthening Families for Parents and Youth 10-14, using the latest research and curriculum from Iowa State University. AnaMaria Diaz-Martinez from WSU will lead the class in Spanish.
The facilitator training will:
-Prepare participants to be facilitators who are connected to existing teams/sites and agency representatives who are considering implementing the program. -Cover best practices for facilitating the 21 parent, youth, and family sessions in the curriculum. -Include the latest updates on Fortaleciendo Familias/Strengthening Families research that is happening in Washington State. -Help participants and organizations develop an implementation plan for successful programming. -Introduce facilitators to data collection and entry to help measure program impacts.
