ABOUT PROJECT NEW HOPE
The purpose of Lions Project New Hope Northwest is to provide military families with professional counseling and education to assist with the stresses related to combat.
For those experiencing difficulty in the transition to life at home, Lions Project New Hope Northwest offers free weekend retreats for military veterans and their families. The retreats are held in peaceful forest settings in the Pacific Northwest and provide professional PTSD and mental health counselors at workshops; counseling sessions with professional counselors; and ample time for the families to enjoy recreational activities as a function of reaffirming the bonds they felt prior to deployment. There is no cost to the veteran nor to their families for attending the retreats.
LPNH NW is a registered non-profit function of the Lions International Multiple District 19, and its core activities are in the South Puget Sound region. All staff, board members and retreat assistants, including professional counselors and instructors are unpaid volunteers.
