Cinderella and Contemporary Works
Dance Foundry presents its Spring Concert at Druid Hills High Schools Uhry Theater on March 24th with shows at 1pm and 4pm. The program includes contemporary works from Atlanta-based choreographers Bella Dorado, Rebekah Pleasant, and Samantha Spriggs. There will also be a lively arrangement of a traditional Puerto Rican dance by Jennilee Garcia-Green.
The program features a new production of the fairy tale ballet, Cinderella, choreographed by Kelly Oakes Dent. This abbreviated version is sure to delight the entire family, incorporating humor, beauty and, of course, the charm of young dancers from all levels of the school. Laugh at the high jinks of the ugly stepsisters as they prepare for the ball and enjoy the dances of the lovely fairy godmother and her fairy assistants as they work their magical transformations. Will Cinderella and her Prince find each other at the ball and live happily ever after? Come find out while enjoying excerpts from the magnificent and haunting score by Sergei Prokofiev.
