Code.IL Program Kickoff
A panel of entrepreneurial experts will discuss why Israel is a leading start-up nation.
How is it that Israel a country of 7.1 million, only 60 years old, surrounded by enemies, in a constant state of war since its founding, with no natural resources produces more start-up companies than large, peaceful, and stable nations? Join leaders from across the Israeli\American tech industry in a discussion about why Israeliness is a secret sauce for achievement and innovation in business.
Liat Lisha, the community shlicha at the JCC, who served in the 8200 elite intelligence unit and worked for IBM in Tel Aviv for 2 years will host the panel and introduce Code.IL, an 8-week leadership and coding program for teens that begins March 12.

Asher Kotz:
Asher is the Business Development Manager with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA.) Asher leads the outreach marketing strategy to Israel and directs the business development strategy for the cybersecurity sector. He was the FCEDA lead for organizing the very successful CybertechFairfax conference in June 2017 at the Capital One Headquarters, in McLean, VA. Before joining Fairfax County EDA in 2009, Asher worked for 13 years in Silicon Valley and for various US and Israeli technology companies. Asher grew-up on Kibbutz Alonim in Israel, and served in the IDF Paratroopers Brigade. Asher has obtained a BA degree in Political Science from Tel Aviv University and an MBA degree from San Francisco State University.
Yifat Alon Perel:
Yifat Alon Perel, Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs in the Israeli Embassy, Washington, D.C. Prior to serving in her current role, Yifat was the Director of the Bilateral Trade Agreements Division in the Ministry of Economy and Industry. Yifat is also an associate member in the young leadership program of The Zionist Strategic Center, the head of Audit Committee of Victims of Terrors association, radio host, piano player and a ballroom dancer.
Ronit Gudes Totah :
Ronit Gudes Totah is the IAC Regional Director in Washington D.C. Israel-born and educated, Ronit has a long history of Israel advocacy and analysis. After service as a lieutenant in the Israeli Air Force, Ronit was a task force member at the Reut Institute, a prestigious think tank in Tel Aviv. More recently she served as the legislative liaison at the Department of Congressional Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, DC. In this capacity, Ronit spearheaded legislative initiatives at the Congressional level and acted as a liaison between Israeli officials and Congressional personnel on matters of foreign affairs, trade and immigration.
Jonathan Chashper:
Jonathan is founder and CEO of Product Savvy Consulting, a product acceleration company, that supports early-stage and middle-market technology companies in building great products that deliver commercial success. He is a recognized professional offering fresh insight and a passion for innovation. He has a proven track record in planning, building, and launching successful high-profile software solutions. As a dynamic leader and guide, Mr. Chashpers leadership drives team cohesion and inspires individuals to strive for even higher levels of achievement. He earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science & Mathematics from Ben-Gurion University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
