THE TOUR EXPERIENCE
Tours begin with a short film about Wright's life and design legacy. Visitors then follow the upper Quarry path to Dragon Rock. Along the way, the tour features stunning views of the House and Studio, an ascending stone staircase, a field of mountain laurel, and the exquisite moss rooms. Visitors approach Dragon Rock by crossing a majestic waterfall via a wood plank bridge. Interior spaces are defined by expanses of glass, innovative materials use, and seamless connections to outside terraces. The Tour concludes by following a stepping stone path over the Quarry Pool dam to the Visitor/Guide House.
As a part of the Artist Residency Program, Manitoga presents INK: The Color of Manitoga by Kazumi Tanaka who will create natural inks from plant specimens she collects in Manitoga's woodland garden. From the color inks, a series of paintings will evolve.
Tanaka will employ her technical skills as a woodworker and antique furniture restorer to create a visually compelling Lab within the main House west gallery. Visitors are invited into the Lab to experience the physical transformation from actual landscape to paintings.
